Packaging SDR DO's and DON'Ts

The following are the Packaging Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR) Preparation DO's and DON'Ts. To help our Military customers get materiel that's properly preserved, packaged, packing, marked, and bar coded, the following guidelines will assist you in your preparation of SDRs. Properly written SDRs allow us to expedite your requests and taking the appropriate and economical corrective actions. SDR writers are our eyes in the distribution system. Assist us to help our DoD customer receive the very best. You can do this by remembering to include detailed information in the REMARKS block such as the following in the 'Do' column.

DON'T: DO:
Enter information such as "Improper marking." Enter information as "Wrong NSN on unit container."
Enter information such as "Improper packing." Enter information as "Material is not packaged and labeled as ESDS."
Enter information such as "Improper preservation." Enter information as "in lieu of Method 41, Method 10 used."
Omit the Contract Number. Enter information as Omitted Contract Number "SP0760-99-M-K247."
Write vague remarks. Write a brief and explicit description of the discrepancy.
